Nano Hybrids is a nanotechnology start-up that develops hybrid core-shell nanoparticles to address the critical challenges of high-impact technological fields like biomedicine and gas-sensing. Spun-out of the University of Amsterdam, we are on a mission to bring nanoparticles from lab to impact. Our new synthesis method reduces the environmental impact of nanoparticle synthesis by removing the need for polluting solvents, while providing advantages in terms of versatility, cost-effectiveness, and simplicity.

Nanoparticles are a key enabling technology for the next technological revolution. Core/shell nanoparticles, an advanced type of nanoparticles, demonstrated potential in addressing global health threats like cancer, sepsis or malaria. However, their manufacturing processes rely on lengthy solvent-based methods, lack versatility, and yield contaminated products, hindering clinical translation. The Functional Materials group (University of Amsterdam) developed a new technology supporting the automated and solvent-free synthesis of high-purity core/shell nanoparticles. This innovation allows complex nanoparticles to be produced with tailored properties for specific biomedical challenges and holds the potential for significant societal impact by providing opportunities for innovation in healthcare applications.

We offer flexible delivery formats depending on your application and downstream requirements. Nanoparticles are typically supplied as a dry powder, but we are happy to accommodate suspensions in a solvent of your choice (subject to compatibility and stability). If you have specific concentration, packaging, or handling requirements, please contact us to discuss these in advance.

Our characterisation services refer to the analytical techniques we use to confirm and document the physical and chemical properties of your nanoparticles. Depending on your needs, this may include particle size distribution, morphology, surface charge (zeta potential), crystallinity, composition, and stability assessments. We tailor the characterisation package to align with your research, regulatory, or product development objectives.

Pricing depends on several factors, including material type, synthesis complexity, required specifications, level of characterisation, and order volume. Minimum order quantities depend on the material and production method. We typically accommodate orders starting from 1 mg for standard formulations. For custom synthesis or highly specialised materials, a higher minimum batch size may apply.
