We welcomed Aumar Mustafa and Maryam Sadeqi to the Nano Hybrids team last month. Aumar joins as CCO and Maryam as R&D Researcher. They join Dr. Olivier Lugier and Wessel Garsten in Nano Hybrids mission to bring innovate nanoparticles to scale.

Dr. Olivier Lugier has expertise in the design, characterization and integration of advanced materials from his PhD at the Advanced Research Center for Nanolithography (ARCNL). His postdoctoral projects focused on the development of sensors for various applications and was involved with the development of the technology central to Nano Hybrids. Dr. Lugier switched his focus to entrepreneurship by participating in multiple incubator programs and learning from mentors and coaches before leading Nano Hybrids since its inception. He raised more than €300,000 funding via dilutive and non-dilutive instruments to develop the technology and grow the project.

MSc (molecular science) Wessel Garsten has experience in different fields within chemistry such as physical chemistry, polymer chemistry and homogeneous catalysis. Wessel has been working at Nano Hybrids since December 2024 as a laboratory technician with the mission to oversee the production of nanoparticles, improve production via optimisation of the machine or of the synthesis process with two main goals, namely better yield and higher quality Nanoparticles.

MSc (Nanomaterials Science) Maryam Sadeqi has expertise in nanomaterials with a multidisciplinary foundation comprising various types of chemistry, materials science, and their applications. She is responsible for Nano Hybrids R&D efforts together with Dr. Lugier. Alongside advancing research at Nano Hybrids, Maryam supports the sales team with technical expertise and material, and is responsible for the external communication.  Maryam Sadeqi joined Nano Hybrids in February 2026 as R&D lead.

MSc (Business and Social Impact) Aumar Mustafa completed his studies in 2025 from the University of Utrecht. Alongside his studies, Aumar founded an AI startup (subsidAI), where he supported clients like Nano Hybrids with securing funding as well as conducted the entire Business Development process. Prior to this, Aumar has spent 8+ years in corporate roles (finance/consulting) helping secure over €300m in Dutch/European grants; including EU’s Innovation Fund and Projects of Common Interest (PCI). At Nano Hybrids, he is responsible for building strategic partnerships and driving the commercial growth of Nano Hybrids. Aumar Mustafa joined Nano Hybrids in February 2026 as CCO.
